I have unsubscribed from the TL;DR newsletter today after enjoying it for many years.
Why? Because it's 90% AI bullshit and it's boring.
Proudly ruining the web since 2013.

Some thoughts about what Joel expects out of blogging regularly, or having a website at all.
When your dogs follow you into the toilet and instantly regret it. π

In preparation for my new Framework laptop, I've been playing around with Fedora 41 on an old laptop. For the most part it works really well, but theming doesn't. I have no idea, but no Gnome Shell themes will work and the default one is horrible - everything is WAY too big on the default theme.

Back in February I decided to admit defeat in the battle against YouTube ads, and I signed up for Premium. Since then, I've become utterly addicted to shorts. It's very, very sad.
So who's up for a global recession then?
Anyone?
No?
Thinking about my next laptop and #Apple has been giving me the ick lately with some of what they're doing.
Anyway, politics of it all aside, I'm thinking about a #Framework 13. Very expensive, but will hopefully last a lot longer.
Anyone have one? What do you think of it?
Another great book from Dennnis E. Taylor. This time about an alien that's killed in a road traffic accident.
I heard this great saying today...
"Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing to not put it in a fruit salad."
My wife recently got a rooster to help look after her flock, and it's a fucking beast!
For reference, the one behind is a fully grown, normal size hen.
I swear it's a goose in disguise! πͺΏ

Youngest: Daaaaaaaaad, how was the earth made?
Me: [explains the Big Bang theory]
Him: So it made EVERYTHING??
Me: Yup
Him: Even that rock?
Me: Everything
Him: Even that tree?
Me: Everything
Him: Even those ponies?
Me: Everything
Him: Even my socks?
Me: EVERYTHING!
Him: Even the farts that come out my bum?
Me: π€¦πΌββοΈ
Walked up to my youngest, put my wrist on his head and said.
"Don't move, you're under a wrist."
I am fucking hilarious. ππ
Back in August I created a very simple Journal for my own use. I've been updating it lately and I think it's a lot better now.
I really wanna play around with @mauricerenck@mastodon.online Komments and IndieConnector plugins, but I really don't know if I want to open that can of worms again.
The second book in The Wild Robot series. Another wholesome book that my kids really enjoyed.
Just read @thewk post on building his Polar Explorer II replica. Such a great post, and considering itβs pretty much exactly the same as my Seiko SBSC009, but for 1/3 of the price - and he got to build it - Iβm a little jealous. π

I was out with my family in Chester recently and I saw a quote on the side of a building explaining how to work better. I thought it was very well put, so I wanted to share it.
I recently bought a new motorbike and managed to drop my phone while riding it. Oh joy.
Spring is definitely in the air. Today might be a good day for the first grass cut of the year...
